Profile

Ivan Jevnikar, Esq.

Ivan Jevnikar is an attorney at law admitted to the Bar of Trieste (registration no. 954) since February 2018, after passing the Italian Bar examination in 2017. He graduated in law from the University of Trieste in 2014 with the grade of 110/110, following a period of study at the Universidad de Salamanca under the Erasmus programme.

Between 2014 and 2016 he completed an 18-month judicial traineeship at the Criminal Section of the Court of Trieste, pursuant to art. 73 of Law Decree 69/2013, assisting the judge in criminal proceedings before the Court in single-judge, panel and pre-trial custodial composition, as well as in chambers (camere di consiglio). In August 2014 he carried out an internship at the office of Alojz Peterle, Member of the European Parliament and former Prime Minister of Slovenia, in Brussels. In 2019 he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management from ESCP Business School, with campuses in London and Paris.

He practices as a sole practitioner in the fields of civil, criminal and private international law, providing both litigation and out-of-court assistance. He regularly works in Italian and Slovenian and, for cross-border matters, also in English and Spanish.

Thanks to dual native fluency in Italian and Slovenian and a network of selected collaborators and correspondents in Slovenia and Croatia, he provides assistance in private international and comparative law. He assists Slovenian citizens with matters in Italy, acts as Italian correspondent for Slovenian law firms on cross-border cases, and supports Italian citizens with issues involving Slovenia and Croatia.

Since 2024 he has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Slovene Permanent Theatre (Slovensko Stalno Gledališče) in Trieste. He was a Board member of the Slov.I.K. consortium in Gorizia from 2021 to 2024.
